I currently have a baby tegu around 4-5 months old. i previously had one just over a year old but had to let her go to someone more experienced as she was very untame from the day i got her.thing is i dont want to make the same mistakes again as they are such wonderful animals.so any advice appriciated.currently ive had the baby for about 2 months and it is taming nicely.hopefully due to its young age it will grow to trust me

This is a good read and is helpful:

You have it correct already, continue to build the trust. Take it slow. It also helps to get your tegu on a schedule. Perhaps a timer for the lights/heat to go on and off at a certain time and a feeding schedule.

Hi ackie123 .Welcome to the Tegu forum family and congrats on your new Tegu.It was very smart of you to get a young Tegu. They are a lot easier to tame.Did you had a Argentine or a Columbian Tegu before ? Columbian Tegus are usually harder to tame down.
