Hi Ben.I feed my Tegus raw at room temps ground turkey, chicken or turkey breast, chicken hearts, gizzards, fresh fish filets ( not from the can or jar and not the ones with the growth hormones in it.Some farm raised fish has that in it ) cat fish, cod, tilapia, tuna and salmon.I realy don't recommend giving your Tegu any lunch meat. Here is some info for you in case you wan to check it out.Hope that helps.

I would think so, but not as part of a staple diet.

It's like the ground turkey issue...it's just lean meat and does not have the vitamin and minerals necessary for a complete diet. You have to keep that in mind and supplement or you will have an unhealthy animal.

Picked up some ground turkey last night... I will see fi she likes it today (she already completly ignored her first fuzzy mouse.

    - So ground turkey would or wouldn't be a good frequent food to give?

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't feed it more than twice a week. I'm sure there are others who would say they feed nothing but ground turkey and their tegus are healthy. I just believe a varied diet is best.

If you feed the Tegu until he/she is full. how long should you keep the meat you heat and reheat? Normally I wouldn't do this too many times, but how resilient are their stomaches? I know their natural tendencies, but I'm still curious how everyone handles their meat so to say...
