    Default Red Belly, WTH

My baby tegu's belly is turning red. My son thinks that maybe he is a hybrid. I am worried that maybe his substrate was staining it or maybe it is some kind of skin condition. When we took him to the vet for his well check he didn't think anything of it. Sorry if the pics aren't that great. He is puppy dog tame and wants to be held all the time but it was hard to get the pictures because he doesn't like to be held in that position. Any ideas?

    HI VEGAS-LIZARD, Welcome Abaord !

I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about. I have seen tegus with lil' yellow bellies. I also think he's extremely adorable ....

Thanks guys! He is my first grandchild (he belongs to my 16yr old son) and I have been trying to learn as much as possible. We do also have an adult beardie, but they are so very different. We did months of research on proper care before getting him but I never saw anything about the belly color in anything that I read. He is so demanding for attention like a child! Fortunately I am home most of the time so he has gotten VERY spoiled.
