I don't think the reds are unpleasant, but B/W are usually more pleasant.

I have to agree. I don't think the reds are unpleasant. I think they're more exotic looking tho'

I've had both and in my opinion mine were all very similar in temperment. If given the choice, I probably wouldn't have a preference between the two besides for looks. That's just me though. I hear what laura said a lot though, about the B/W being more pleasant generally.

Okay thanks. I was just a bit curious if all Argentine's are pretty docile and good natured. I have been calling around the last couple days trying to find a place that has/will have/or knows where I can get a B&W but they all told me the b&w's are in high demand this season and they are not available yet (someone from here did warn me that I prob wouldn't get one until summer) but they all have reds. The reds are only about $20 more too. Its funny though, I was talking an Exotic pet store (they only deal with reptiles) and I asked if they happen to have any Arg B&W's and he said that they just sold the last Arg the day before. I aksed him how much and he told me that the Argentine Columbian B&W was $100. I think he felt pretty stupid when he passed the phone to his co worker after I had corrected him. Its crazy how little these people know about the reptiles they sell.
Well maybe I'll try to read up a bit more on the Reds I just find it pretty hard to get specific info in the Reds most of what I find is generalized towards the Argentine's.

The reds are about equal with the care and temperament as the Argen B&W, but the Reds do need more Vitamins to maintain healthy skin (can feed more fruit or more beef liver to add the extra vitamins) i would have to say from what I've seen the reds are more shy than B&Ws

The reds can have shedding problems and you see a lot with missing toes and tail tips. You just gotta be careful with them and keep an eye on it. Mine would devour fruit before he got to his meat portion!

Some keeper told me that the Red's were more subsmissive compare to the ARgentine black and White. Jeff also told me that during breeding season, female red's were less aggressive than Black and white.

I do really like the look of the Reds, I don't really have a preference of the two but I have been looking at alot of pics and I am just wondering why some reds are more patternless then others?? I really like the look of the ones with the patterns, they look pretty much like the B&W except instead of black it is brown/red. Which is a standard Red??
