    Went on a herping hike a few days ago and saw several five-lined skinks, western fence lizards, and southern alligator lizards. Also saw a large gopher snake.

    OK, everyone take out your Stebbins field guides and, based on the information from reptilekeeper, identify the area in California where this outing could have taken place.
