Today we got some sad news from one of our members whose Tegu passed away. I wanted to create this thread in the memory of the Tegus who have died. Here you can share your feelings, memories and photos of your beloved Tegu.

If you have posted some informations about your Tegu in the health section I would like to post the links in here so others can see why your Tegu has passed away ( if it is OK with you ).

This thread also will help me ( us ) to see who lost a Tegu and get back with you to see on how you are doing. May God bless you, bring comfort and healing to your heart and mind.

Thanks Texrepgirl for this. Puddin' will definitely be missed as she was such a great Tegu and part of our family. Unfortunately, she lost her battle today and, while we're very sad and our hearts are breaking, we have to find comfort in the fact she isn't in pain anymore. I've posted some of our favortie pictures of her (and her buddy Tater) in her memory.

This is a really good thread. Thank you for this. We lost our beloved Tegu Bacardi exactly one week ago. He was suffering from MBD, you can read about it here:

I lost my beloved Domino Sept '09 following surgery for impacted substrate. Why she ate substrate when she was given good balanced tegu food, I will never know. She was never right after hibernation and we do not know if she got too cold in the garage during the winter (we live in Florida). We miss her badly... she was loved so much. If there is a Tegu Heaven, I am sure she is there. My condolences to all those sharing this post who have lost their beloved tegus. And thank you, Txrepgirl, for this post.

Losing one of our "family members", regardless of what type of animal they are, is never easy. Domino was a beautiful girl and I'm sure she brought you much happiness. We also live in FL and were very concerned during this last cold spell. We have each other on here and have found comfort in knowing there are so many other Tegu lovers

We lost Helix, my Columbian Tegu last Saturday afternoon (3.6.10) while at the vet. He was my baby, my angel in scaly skin, I will miss him terribly. But in his time here, he surely planted a seed in my heart that grew into a profound adoration for these beautiful creatures. May he reside peacefully in Tegu Heaven aside the many other beloved tegus.

My empathy goes out to all those who have lost their tegus for whatever reason. I hope that the pain of the loss will fade quickly but the fond memories of your pet remain strong in your minds and hearts.
