    Default Large pacman frog help!!

Okay so long story short I got a friend of mine a hatchling sized pacman frog in january. My friend just recently passed away and his parents cannot care for his collection so I'm inheriting his intire collection. With it is the pacman frog and he's about 7 or 8inches. What in the world do I feed this big guy and how often?? When I talked to him before he died he said he fed it rats but he's always been known for exaggerating the truth. He's coming in a 18 gallon tote which has been his enclosure his intire life. Should i keep him in this or move him to a larger enclosure? If so what size? Thanks in advance!

I broke out my handy dandy tape measure for this one. A pacman frog can basically eat anything that is its size or smaller, so yes, he could chow down on a small rat. I would probably get a large mouse or 2 mice first though becuase small rats can be a pain to find sometimes.

My understanding is that rats are steriods for reptiles, by feeding rats it increases the rate of growth becuase they are packed with more nutrition.

Also the 18 gallon tank is perfect, these frogs don't move much, apparently you could keep them in a 10 gallon and be set.

Here are some quick fun care sheets I found.

You should....totally upload a vid of the guy eating too, get a high frame rate though so it can be slowed down, they are awesome!

I can't help you with the care of the frog, as I'm not familiar with them at all, but at the very least I wanted to send my condolences to you for the loss of your friend. *gentle hugs*

As far as the frog I would feed him dubia roaches every other day and once or twice a week with the rats. What size is the tote? l x w x h i mean.

It's 25in long 15in tall and 15in wide. The enclosure has one of those jacuzzi water bowls Eco earth substrate and a couple fake plants. Is there any adjustments I need to make on setup? I'm finding care sheets sayin different ways of seting it up. I don't know which to believe

I think your more than good with that set up man. Your old buddie seemed to have it doing well with his set up and it is almost an adult, why mess with a good thing?
