The python law passed, trust me. The introduced species do take a toll. The native green tree frogs and green anoles have been displaced by the Cuban brown anoles and Cuban tree frogs. Air potatoes choke out native vegetation, hydrilla choke waterways, non-native apple snails compete with others for food, tilapia compete with bass and bluegill for nesting spots/food. It's pretty tough down here. And all of these animals compete with development for land space and water. It's a rough ride down here and I'm not exactly a bleeding heart environmentalist. But I am a native Floridian and I enjoy the habitat very much.

Damn, when I heard about that bill I looked it up right away to make sure it didn't pass. It just included a ton of stuff about how it shouldn't pass, but no dates of it actually passing. Tough break for those Florida people. BUT according to a special I watched about invasive species in Florida, there are like 100,000 per every square Mile or some terrible unit of large measurement like that. I don't believe it, but I think you could get some buddies, go 'herping' (someone needs to change that name, sounds terrible) and aquire new pets!

They just have to man up, it is American Made!

Any pythons captured must be euthanized or taken to an AVMA approved research facility. The numbers you saw on TV are extrapolated from a number of snakes found in a small farming area years ago. It is believed that at least 70% or so were killed in the cold winter last year.
